Therapy for
Life Changes & Transitions

Development and change are a natural, intricate part of human life. We undergo recognizable changes, such as establishing relational expectations as a child, developing self-identity in adolescence and forging career identity as adults.

Change can be prompted by something external, like a move to another location, a loss, changes within career or a shift in relationships.

It can also be internal.

It can be a challenging of old beliefs, patterns and dynamics, as we self-evolve into who we know we are, regardless of the unhealthy ideals that were modeled during earlier development.

Even when the change is a positive one, it can be difficult to let go of what is familiar.

When the change was not of our choice or action, this too can be extremely challenging.

Therapy for life transitions will vary on the situation and goal; it can include exploring how the change impacts beliefs of self, coping skills to navigate complex emotions and space to express reactions to the unknown.  Human being like consistency; we like routine and predictability. When those things morph, it is uncomfortable. At times, that discomfort impacts well-being.

If you have noticed increased emotional intensity, overwhelming thought, somatic unease or a combination of three, therapy for your life transition can help.
